With a view to limiting recourse to fossil fuels and thereby slowing Global warming, renewable energy production sources are enjoying a boom thanks to the public policies implemented in France and around the world. Past and future falls in the renewable energy production costs provide the subject of many discussions. To bring factual content to these discussions, ADEME produces this document presenting variations in the current cost of production for every source of renewable energy in France and, where data is available, shows past (2008-2018) and futures (2018-2050) trends. For some energies, an international comparison is also provided for current costs.
