ADEME is proposing four "typical" scenarios that present, in a deliberately contrasting manner, economic, technical and social options for achieving carbon neutrality, without exhausting the diversity of possible futures that could be decided upon. This 2024 updated 16-page summary presents the main findings of this work: - 11 key messages - a comparative assessment of the 4 scenarios in the form of a computer graphics and figures on energy: energy demand and consumption - climate: major role of biological sinks - resources - limitations and perspectives for further study
