This study is providing an overview of the current situation in terms of waste transport from french overseas territories and identifies ways for improvement to address the current transport challenges faced by EPR systems.
Among these recommendations, logistics planning emerges as a priority area for action , requiring relatively low initial investment while responding to multiple constraints. Indeed, challenges related to waste treatment infrastructure remain significant in these territories, driving stakeholders to export to other outlets, mainly in mainland France.
This situation is particularly problematic as transboundary waste movements are subject to complex international regulations and numerous technical constraints. In addition, a significant increase of the waste flows to be exported is expected over the next five years.
The following deliverables are provided:
the final report (french),
the summary (french and english),
a projection of the quantities of waste to be exported (french),
an overview of the regulations (french),
a regulatory support file for "Transport of dangerous goods" (french).
