The Empreinte Projet method is a first step in the environmental assessment of projects. In particular, it will enable those responding to ADEME Calls for Proposals to provide an assessment framework for project owners. Based on consequential LCA principles, Empreinte Projet draws on the QuantiGES method developed in 2016, and complements and strengthens it with a multi-criteria approach and requirements inspired by international LCA standards. With its five levels of approach, Empreinte Projet allows for gradual and iterative implementation. Level of approach 1 (qualitative) and 2 (QuantiGES) require little in terms of specific environmental assessment skills. From level 3 (Simplified multi-criteria), LCA skills are recommended, and LCA expertise for levels 4 and 5.
