Présentation

The pulp and paper industry, although largely decarbonized thanks to its use of biomass for energy production, is responsible for 3% of French industrial emissions. It is also a sector that is both key to the ecological transition, through the production of recycled and recyclable packaging, and subject to drastic market changes brought by the digitalisation and fall of graphic paper usage. The Pulp and Paper Industry Sectoral Transition Plan proposes the exploration of two contrasting scenarios leading to the objective of -81% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2050 compared with 2015, the target set by the National Low Carbon Strategy.
