Project supported by ADEME as part of the smart electricity grids project in the Investments for the Future Programme. First brick of smart grids, smart meters, in process of deployment, will offer new services to electric grid players and improve security and reliability of electricity distribution and supply. Smart meters are launching a physical and organisational revolution in the electric system: it is an opportunity to change household into prosumers to manage their electricity demand and ensure electricity peak reduction, but also to provide local authorities with new electricity consumption management tools, and give new means to maintain quality of electricity supply to grid operators.
