As the news reminds us every day, our society urgently needs to start adapting to the consequences of climate change more quickly, moving away from a reactive approach to climate risks and instead anticipating and taking action. That is the goal of ADEME's 2023-2027 strategy entitled Acting together now!, which sets out a number of key observations and identifies strategic priorities to address them:
- The primary focusisto explain the changeshappening now and how action can be taken to improve and build a culture of anticipation;
- The second observation concerns the systemic nature of climate impacts, which raises issues around who makes decisions (i.e. governance), and where and when action should best be taken. Taking action means establishing collective initiatives that are coordinated at every level, supported by simplified, decompartmentalised funding solutions that also include the necessary technical assistance;
- Our 3rd strategic priority is continuous improvement, explicitly identified and provided for in both public and private policies.
