Présentation
Biobased products are made from materials derived from the living world: biomass (e.g. wood, flax, wool or algae). They represent a promising alternative to fossil fuels. They can be used in a wide range of sectors, from construction to textiles, and under certain conditions offer considerable potential for a low-carbon economy. France, with almost 90% of its territory covered by agricultural or forestry land, is a key player in this booming bioeconomy. Given this situation, it is essential to understand the issues and challenges involved in developing bio-based products, to ensure a responsible and sustainable transition.
