This issue of the ADEME International Newsletter takes a look back at the Global Forum, which took place in Paris in March 2024. This first Buildings and Climate Global Forum was attended by a large number of construction industry stakeholders from every part of the world. The buildings and construction sector is currently responsible for 21% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide; a contribution that is likely to rise over the coming years, driven by very rapid urban growth, particularly in the countries of the Global South. So there is a real urgency about the need to change the way buildings are constructed and used.
