In order to facilitate the transition to action, ADEME has carried out an unprecedented foresight exercise, based on two years of development work and the mobilization of a hundred or so of its employees as well as regular exchanges with a scientific committee. ADEME proposes four "typical" scenarios that present, in a deliberately contrasting manner, economic, technical and social options for achieving carbon neutrality, without exhausting the diversity of possible futures that could be decided upon. This 2024 updated 72-page summary is based on the report Transition(s) 2050.
