Mis en ligne le : 22/07/2026
As a rapidly growing sector, AI is at the center of current news and discussions, and specific regulations are emerging, such as the European Union’s AI Act (European Union, 2024). However, issues related to environmental impacts remain overlooked, with the exception of certain initiatives and reports on this topic. The purpose of this document is to summarize the current state of the art regarding the direct and indirect (negative and positive) environmental impacts of generative and agentic AI, as well as to provide recommendations for mitigating these impacts.
