Extrinsic durability of clothing : quantitative measurement
Présentation
In theory, apparel & footwear’ durability is the ability to withstand intrinsic and extrinsic changes caused by the environment. The intrinsic dimension refers to wear and tear, deterioration of
materials or other physical aspects. The extrinsic dimension refers to external changes that influence the user's preferences.
The literature review we present in this document aims at clarifying which extrinsic durability factors are already documented, and how to assess their respective impact of the number of
wears. Down the line, this document aims at defining a methodology to quantify the impact of each factor on the number of wears.
