Improving the levers encouraging collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment

Improving the levers encouraging collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment

Findings of the benchmark and review and proposed action plan

Présentation

With a view to identifying the levers to be mobilised to ensure that France meets the EU target for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) collection, ADEME performed a review of the situation at the European and national levels.

The study comprises several sections:

  • The first section presents an overview of practices in European countries. It then sets out a detailed analysis of eight countries with a view to tapping into the lessons learned there.
  • The second section reviews collection practices in France in order to understand their mechanisms and identify existing obstacles.
  • The third section proposes 11 priority actions and 13 non-priority actions to be implemented to improve progress towards the WEEE collection targets in France, relative to the baseline year 2022. These actions were defined on the basis of the first two sections along with a series of consultation workshops.

Please note that only the summary of this study is available in English.
